I’m a Technology executive with a long international background in deploying the first of its kind technology-led services. During these years leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, I found anxiety, stress, and inability to express emotions a major factor in team performance degradation. Often leading to psychological imbalances and team members refusing to return to projects and sometimes resign and disappear. Young engineers were often the victims as they were just starting to navigate the early stages of their career faced with toxic management & new socio-economic environments. Often, I would handle these situations by providing a safe environment for them to speak up and nourish them back with healthy food and conversation.
During the Pandemic I had to witness a few “go-fund-me" rounds for youth funerals. I also heard from the Youth council members how they were struggling to express their emotions while facing fear of being judged by adult-run society. We tried to envision a Technology based solution like a chatbot that would talk to a youth like a youth. We realized that such products didn’t exist as the existing bots were designed by adults without any youth inputs. This motivated me to create a platform for youth where they can safely discuss mental health, create product requirements on how such a Bot can be built ground up & then create algorithms that would make this a reality.
